The long haul to success

SAC Trucks begun life back in 2000 as a small, single-minded workshop, offering a basic level of service while still maintaining the high level of quality that you have come to expect from a SAC franchise.

The demand for top class service and value for money solutions was underestimated and it was not too long before SAC Trucks had begun to outlive their original premises, and the hunt was on to find a bigger and more accessible home.

In 2003 this was done, and 97 Park Avenue North, Highway Business Park in Centurion, Gauteng, became home to what was about to become the fastest growing and most diverse operation in the SAC Group.

Headed up by Hein Lategan, a Mechanical Engineer with a deep seated passion for motorsport, the business was ever growing, but it lacked that magic something to truly ignite it into the unit it is today.

And that spark came in the form of Paulo Fernandes, an out and out motoring enthusiast with more than 20 years experience in the trucking business. Fernandes who is now an equal partner in this business was the catalyst behind growing SAC Trucks into a complete one stop shop.

Not only does SAC Trucks still offer a state of the art workshop with full dyna diagnostic abilities, but also now boasts a panel shop that can take care of most of your panel beating and refurbishment needs at the same time. And probably most importantly, in the fast paced world of trucking where down time costs big money, SAC Trucks now has one of the most comprehensive Volvo, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, MAN and DAF spares parts divisions in the country. Renault and Iveco options will be added to this growing list soon.

Talking of growth, and added convenience we opened four new branches in Durban, Cape Town, Middelburg and Klerksdorp between May 2011 and June 2012. At the same time we commissioned a new stand alone warehouse in Centurion during July 2012.
